Movement to Stop Government Surveillance

Rhode Island Coalition to Defend Civil and Human Rights held “Rally to Stop Spying on the American People” yesterday at Burnside Park in Providence, RI.

Five people from different organizations such as the Green Party, Socialist Party, the American Civil Liberties Union (ASLU) and the International Organization Standardization (ISO) spoke at the event that promoted awareness of the government’s surveillance over Americans as an act of oppression.

The rally encouraged listeners to sign a petition to Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and Representatives David Cicilline and James Langevin to question governmental surveillance by the National Security Agency (NSA).
